David writes in this Psalm as he is on the run from his son Absalom. He is surrounded by his enemies with nowhere to turn or run, but he believed that salvation was not in himself but issued forth from the Lord. We see a genuine out working of his faith in this chapter as he cried out to God in prayer, found peace, & was fearless before his enemies.
